Diasec Face Mount Acrylic
Diasec ingredients are clear… |
…and keep pigment prints safe |
The select Diasec ingredients contain a closely guarded secret formula. Ingredients that will be supplied from Diasec Canada b.v. to Diasec producers only. The special Diasec glue that is fluid, allows an optimal light penetration and refraction of clear acrylic, which enhances the image definition. It gives brilliant colors and fine detailed texture to photographic works that just cannot be achieved using traditional glazing methods. Diasec panels are backed with Aluminium or composite material (Dibond), reinforcing the rigidity of the finished picture and proving a beautiful profile when viewed from the side. The back plate enables the attachment of a custom made aluminium sub-frame that allows the artwork to hang on the wall, from where it will appear to ”float” with no obvious means of support. |
Diasec fluid glue is neutral curing and has an in-built ultra violet light filter. It contains no plasticizers and is resistant to fungicidal matter, bacterial agents and air-bourne pollutants. After curing the whole airtight panel remains chemically inert and stable. The finished product remains flexible too, enabling it to withstand changes in temperature and humidity, which commonly affect works on paper. Initially designed for the gluing of C-Type prints, the Diasec process makes it now possible to mount on inkjet papers. This means that is is possible to choose an OBA free fine art paper. Mounting inkjet prints into Diasec will result in an artwork that will last a long time. Much longer than you can imagine. |
High Gloss Acrylic | Anti-Reflective | TruLife |
The most popular finish when mounting artwork in Diasec is a high gloss surface. There is also the possibility to use a so called “hard coated” version, that keeps the acrylic surface safe to abrasions. Here we quote the most mentioned topics we hear from our customers and experience ourselves:
|
Also known in our profession as the matte version.
The acrylic has a structure like a matte photo print. It keeps away reflections that you experience with gloss acrylic when an artwork is right opposite a window section. In that case the solution can be found in a matte finish. However the finish is lowering the contrast of the image slightly, it can give portrait a beautiful look. The softness of the finish can make skintones just as soft as real skin. In some cases it can give artwork a spectacular soft effect. |
TruLifeTM is a product of TruVue®, known of non glare Museumglass® for framings. This material also has a huge UV protection
The material is available coated single side for the use with Diasec. The uncoated side is suitable for the fluid mounting system that Diasec uses. Unique combination. Diasec® suppliers recommend TruLifeTM as a preferred medium. Because the image is glued directly in contact with the TruLife™ anti-reflective acrylic there is a great advantage compared to traditional framing. Due to the combination of TruLifeTM and Diasec® the result is an even clearer image than you were used to. |
